With reference to your letter of 12th instant, I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of the Duke of Newcastle, that they see no objection to the Ordinance passed by the Legislature of Hong Kong, No 15 of 1862, for the appropriation of a sum not exceeding $149,000, to defray the charges of 1862.
